LOCUSTS STRIKE OUT WEST
Farmers are being warned of an emerging locust plague.
The latest research from the Department of Primary Industries shows hatchings could occur next week in the far west around Wilcannia, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga.
The Rural Lands Protection Board says so far there’s no signs of any outbreaks around Tamworth and Gunnedah, which have been hit by plagues in the past.
Farmers are being urged to keep a close watch on their properties and report any hatchings to their local board.
