The region’s first electric vehicle fast-charging station opened in Tamworth today, in what’s expected to be a boost for tourism.
Electric car sales are on the rise, jumping up by 67-percent from 2016 to 2017.
NRMA director Fiona Simson says it’s important regional areas are equipped for the future.
“We know people are looking for electric vehicles and it’s really important that regional Australia can get on board with that and not be left behind.”
The station is located in Tamworth’s “Hands of Fame” car park.
