Port Macquarie cyclist Lachlan Morton has taken out America’s 15 and 16 years men’s Road Cycling Championship.
Morton only decided to enter the competition at the last minute and won the 56-kilometre race in a thrilling sprint to the line.
After the race he paid tribute to his coach, former Olympic cyclist Graham Seers and his fellow team riders.
Morton will remain in the United States until Christmas.
