LENNOX LONGBOARD CLASSIC
At Lennox Head, it was all about the longboards.
Around 100 surfers from across the eastern seaboard made the most of the pristine conditions at Main Beach, for the 11th annual Longboard Classic.
The women’s open event shaping up to be an all-local showdown.
Lennox Head’s Annie Watts and the Tweed’s Kirsty Webster breezed through to the semis in their opening heat this morning.
Also impressive, 16-year-old Ballina rising star Kara Nobbs, who’s feeling the pressure after progressing in both the junior and open divisions.
“I’ve competed at state recently, it would be good if I keep my reputation up,” said Kara.
Semi finals across all 10 age and gender divisions begin at first light tomorrow, with the finals expected to get underway at 10am.
