In an enthusiastic show of support for the National Broadband Network Dr Karl Kruszelnicki touched down in Coffs Harbour today, to talk about the evolving benefits of high speed broadband.
“It’s as important as gas, electricity, clean drinking water.”
He says the full benefit of such technology is yet to be seen.
“It’s a bit like electricity in the early days, when they had electricity they thought we’ll use it for lights, and then a little but later they used it for fridges, and nowadays they use it for mix masters and microwaves.”
More than 6,000 homes are now eligible for the network in Coffs Harbour.
