PHOTO: Unveiling of the statue at Nobbys Beach
The work of Newcastle Lifeboats and Rocket Brigade was immortalised today, in a sculpture by the sea.
The artwork recognises the marine rescues completed in the early 19th to mid 20th centuries, when Newcastle had one of the most dangerous ports in the world.
Descendants of crew members gathered for the unveiling.
