The push to restore the North West Rescue Helicopter’s winching capabilities now has the support of Armidale Dumaresq Council.
They’re the second New England North West local government office to get behind the cause.
With the New England area home to many gorges and national parks, Armidale believes the service to be critical in saving lives.
A petition is currently being circulated to members of the community, while council has a copy in its Rusden Street building.
