There was a lucky escape for a truck driver on the Central Coast yesterday.
Just after 11am, a Rutherford-bound semi trailer full of clay caught fire, forcing the closure of northbound lanes of the F3 Freeway at Mount White.
The driver, from Victoria, had pulled the rig over after seeing smoke billowing from the engine.
He escaped unharmed but the same couldn’t be said for the prime mover.
