MUSWELLBROOK TRUCK FIRE CLOSES THE NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY

A truck went up in flames on the New England Highway north of Muswellbrook early this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 4am where they found the B-double fully alight.

The highway was closed in both directions, while the inferno was extinguished.

One lane is now open but traffic is still heavy while both north and south bound motorists are let through.

The truck was believed to be filled with a range of goods.
