A surfer is in hospital following a shark attack on the Central Coast.
Just before 4pm, the 25-year-old man was bitten and knocked off his board at Avoca Beach.
He made his own way to Gosford Hospital for treatment.
North Avoca and Avoca beaches were subsequently closed.
