VAN CATCHES FIRE ON M1 MOTORWAY

Traffic is returning to normal on the M1 motorway, west of Newcastle, after a van caught alight late today.

Dense smoke covered south bound lanes near Morisset, these pictures caught by Ben Read and his son as they passed by.

The van was destroyed but no one was injured.
